By the time you’ve finished reading the title above, a number of instructions have been placed for Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant for playing favorite tracks by voice commands or booking a movie ticket, or reminding to pick up kids after school (like, that was ever needed!). The smart CCTV camera outside your house recognizes every family member, and the microwave in your kitchen knows exactly how warm you want your breakfast before leaving for the office. We all have involved technology everywhere to make our life easy. The latest and most disrupting evolution in the digital ecosystem is The Internet of Things, or IoT, which is also helping mankind to live a convenient lifestyle eliminating labor and chances of human error on a large scale.

In IoT, the devices within built sensors are interconnected and integrate data through the internet. This form of the extensive network of connected things applies analytics designed to perform specific actions. As technology is rapidly advancing, numerous connected devices across the world are collecting data every single day and making themselves useful in almost every aspect of our lives. Going as per the Statista report, it is estimated that the market revenue of IoT is estimated to reach 1.6 trillion by the year 2025.

Being an IT setup where our talks generally revolve around technology, languages, and digital advancements, we get it natural to stick around automation of all human actions around us. Our research team has gathered some crucial info and picked up five most crucial areas where their impact will be noticeable in different sectors.

1. IoT in Environment Sustainability

The capabilities of the IoT platforms are getting utilized to resolve issues where everyone is in one team – Environment Sustainability. The world as one unit is focusing on creating green and eco-friendly solutions for the betterment of society, and IoT holds the potential in making things possible. IoT-oriented applications have been used for monitoring the environment, optimizing energy, and performing territorial management using advanced technology instruments and reduced manual dependency. The applications of IoT are also involved on a broad scale in areas like commercial farming, weather monitoring, endangered species safety and protection, and other essential sectors to protect the environment in every way.

2. The rise in Cloud Native Applications

Utilizing technology in operations to enhance productivity isn’t a new thing. Business houses regularly spend money on the latest technology available in the market to enhance their operations and solidify other sectors of their operations. For the last couple of years, businesses are now moving toward making cloud-native applications, software, and platforms that promise increased reliability and flexibility and are quick to reach their end user. Post-pandemic, numerous communication service provider firms, and telecom operators have upgraded themselves towards cloud-native applications that need reduced maintenance and help in increasing operations.

3. IoT in Healthcare

With every passing time, healthcare services are becoming costly affairs and getting out of reach for most individuals. We all have witnessed the pandemic where we all got stuck and seek assistance at our places. Although the use of technology in the healthcare sector wasn’t a new term, however, its adoption multiplied post-pandemic as the rising number of chronic diseases has affected people and turned up the need for cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality. The extensive adoption of technology in the healthcare industry has given rise to many healthcare devices and applications that are collectively helping patients, doctors, and hospitals and diminishing their gaps.

4. IoT in Environment Sustainability

There has been a drastic change in the appearance of classrooms after the intervention of technology in the education sector. The traditional way of teaching is replaced by engaging sessions through digital whiteboards and learning apps. The education sector is now working actively to enhance the quality by introducing smart devices and applications that are making learning easy for students and fulfilling the duties of teachers.
Immersive learning projects itself as the upcoming future of education that leverages digital technologies like mixed reality (MR), 3D technology, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) to make study and learn in a whole new innovative way. If you are looking to dive into more information on immersive learning, we recently published a blog in which we have provided detailed information specifically on immersive learning and how it will impact the education sector.

5. IoT in E-commerce

Lots of intelligent devices are being used to help both business owners and customers swiftly perform their operations. Inventory management, supply chain management, personalized customer experience, and automated shopping processes in brick-and-mortar stores are some of the areas where IoT is currently helping the ecommerce industry, and numbers are adding significantly every year with the introduction of smart features. IoT is also helping business owners by taking over one more crucial aspect of the e-commerce industry- Fast and Safe Delivery. Retail giant, Amazon is working extensively in delivering goods through robots named Amazon Scout. The cooler size electric vehicle can navigate through pedestrians, pets, and other objects on the sidewalk and can deliver products to the doorstep.
