In our efforts to keep employees cheerful and be acquainted with what’s in their minds, on the Friday of 22nd November 2019, we organized the first-ever Non-Work Open House at Sarvika Technologies. The entire team along with the management was anxiously looking forward to the event. The aim was to bring each Sarvikan on the same page with the management.
The session was kicked-off with a fun-filled coloring activity. Everyone received a sheet with black-outline print, it was a mix of Avenger miniatures and other cool stuff. The activity was an ode to childhood when life was all about color, eat, sleep, and repeat!And you won’t believe, the colored sheets are remarked by tiny children of our team members who were quite stringent, and honest of course! But the ones who won got chocolates and hugs :). Next in line was the quiz round, where the members were divided into three teams. The questions ranged from the IT Industry to Bollywood to general current affairs. For example, we asked people to identify the fictional character on whom JIRA is named or to name five movies where Amitabh Bachchan played a double role. (If you know the answer, do share via the comment section given below). Before heading to the last round of the forum, we handed over yummilicious munchies to all. We timed the snack-a-thon just before the open discussion because food is considered as the best conversation starter. The evening ended with an open, heart-to-heart discussion between all the Sarvikans and RC. The floor was left open for people to share their experiences, thoughts, and suggestions for improvement with the management. It wasn’t just about appreciating the work culture, but also pointing out the grey areas in the functioning that needs corrective action ASAP. The management also shared the expansion plans, how references for potential candidates from all the employees are more than welcome.
The Non-Work Open House was so successful that the management decided to make it a monthly affair.As a member of India Inc, the onus is on the companies to ensure that employees feel one with the company. Open house discussions, no cubicle working, 5-day a week working policies, mental health awareness sessions are ways through which organizations promote an employee-friendly environment.
