Our home away from home. | Unlocking Sarvika Technologies

On 1st June, the GOI eased restrictions for the corporates to resume office operations, though at a bare minimum level. Unlike many competitors in the domain, the Sarvika Tech leadership was concerned about the pandemic spread and the team’s safety, which prompted the decision to remain remote for the time being.

The challenge for the leadership was to resume operations from our base, as many team members were seeking the comfort of the office environment to work more efficiently and alongside their respective teams.

The management designed an unlock plan which was implemented in multiple phases. Phase 1 of unlock, starting from 1st July, saw a group of 10 team members coming to the premises and resuming their daily operations.

Before Phase 1 was kicked into operation, the entire Sarvika premises was sanitized to eliminate any traces of harmful viruses and bacteria. A well-documented plan was shared with the entire team highlighting the do’s and the don’ts while working from the office.

Phase 2, from 13th July, welcomed 10 more team members who live within the same city as our headquarters.

The current strength of the company is close to sixty people. The challenge, before implementing Phase 3 of unlock, was to ensure the practice of social distancing norm. The management wanted that on any work-day, no more than half the strength was present at the premises.

Hence the Phase 3 (implemented from 4th August) witnessed a unique working style. Using the time-table concept, the management came up with an idea to give each Sarvikan a 2-day week WFH and to operate from the office on the remaining days.

It solved two of our most pressing concerns i.e. to keep the WFH habit in practice and maintain the social distancing norm for a safe workplace.

Not only this, but the Sarvika leadership also introduced a few daily practices to ensure a safe, COVID-free work environment for all. Some of those practices are.

  1.     Daily temperature monitoring at the start of the day.
  2.     Allocating alternate desks to the team to maintain social distance.
  3.     Making the use of masks mandatory within the premises.
  4.     Daily sanitization of the premises.
  5.     Wide availability of medicated, alcohol-based hand rubs.
