My Journey In Sarvika Technologies From Small Setup To Swanky Premises

February 22, 2022 4:42 pm | by Sarvika Technologies | Posted in Life At Sarvika

Say hello to Ramgopal Lamrod, our Technical Lead, or you can say our go-getter. He is one of the Founding Members who has seen Sarvika Technologies grow from a small startup of three to a team of more than a 100 today. To bring out his story, we got into a F2F conversation with Ramgopal and let him be vocal about his journey over the years.

In conversation with Ramgopal.

Q1. What made you join the IT field? Was it planned or happened by fluke?

Joining the IT field was purely my preference as I always wanted to see myself in a place crowded with computers and IT geeks. I come from the countryside area near Nagaur (a district in Rajasthan) where individuals are not offered many choices regarding career. From an early age, I was drawn towards computers which came into my life when I was in Grade 6. After graduating from high school, I enrolled for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as ‘Engineer’ was the title I always wanted to achieve, and computers were something I wanted to be surrounded with. In college, I started learning about Java and other aspects which were not just part of my curriculum but also my areas of interest. I started practicing these languages, technologies, and trends to become better than my previous self and my peers.

Q2. What would you like to tell us about your journey of joining the organization as one of its first people on board?

I was the third member who joined the organization that RC started in Jaipur after working for years as a Software Solutions Specialist in the US. Call it my luck or grace of God that the company was looking for a young yet skilled Java developer, and I happened to be ticking all the boxes they were seeking in their next recruit. So technically, I got placement one year before my class fellows.

Q3. You’ve completed 8 years in the company. How has your experience been so far?

Today, we all see Sarvika Technologies as an organization where people from different streams, educational backgrounds gossip, eat and work (in the exact order). Taking you to my journey, I was a 20-year-old guy when I started working at the company – then a startup on a runway to take off its journey. Having known the company when its habitat was a small basement, I believe I have covered a long distance personally and professionally. I started my career as an Application Developer and moved up the ranks. Today, as a Technical Lead, I am managing a team and ensuring all the deadlines are met as per the said schedule.

Q4. What’s your daily routine at the office premises?

I start my work at 9 AM, and the first thing I do is check and revert to emails that need my attention. As my designation keeps me occupied with tasks like developing software solutions as per clients’ requirements, a cup of tea does wonders in keeping my energy levels steady throughout the day. Being senior personnel, I am also responsible for mentoring and assigning tasks to junior developers apart from my own. My work hours get stretched when something urgent like a client’s meeting comes up, though I try to manage it all within my working hours and spare myself a good evening with the family.

Apart from core responsibilities, I am an active member of our CSR committee and like to volunteer in all their activities as I am a firm believer in giving back to society in whatever way you can. I am still learning new things and keeping myself as per the trends. Our company has provided me with a network of people willing to help and share valuable outputs. I spend a lot of time discussing new developments and concepts with my colleagues when we are not involved in client deliveries.

Q5. Apart from technology, is there any other thing that excites you?

Nowadays, I play Cricket with my colleagues every weekend as it’s the best way to balance the workdays which I spend glued to the screen. My after office time and weekends are reserved for my family in which we like to visit shopping malls, go to restaurants, or simply do nothing but spend time together at home.

In my school days, I did weightlifting for three years at the state level and have been inclined towards sports since childhood as my institute gave equal attention to sports and studies. I have supported Cricket (a popular sport in India and Southeast Asia) religiously from the 90s era of Sachin Tendulkar to present one of Virat Kohli which came naturally because of the love we as Indians share for the game.

Q6. Who has been your role model?

I believe numerous people play their respective roles collectively in making us what we are today. My family has supported my career and has given me everything they can, especially my uncle, who I looked forward to advice regarding studies and career. Coming from a family of farmers, my father was a visionary individual and someone who knew the value of proper education and what difference it can make in one’s life. I owe my success to them for their hard work responsible for making me what I am today.

Q7. If you have to give any advice to the 18-year-old version of you, what would it be?

Over the years, I have come across many budding IT individuals running the race of cramming as many languages they can display on their profiles. As per my take, one should always start small and add on new things only when you are 100 percent confident in your previous learnings. My advice would be ‘Whatever you do, give your 100% and make sure you are best in what you do’. I believe in working on one thing at a time, so you will always see only one tab open on my screen while working in the office.
